Scott Rhodes came to FBC in June of 2024. Scott has over 25 years of experience doing  local church ministry. However, this is his first senior pastorate. Scott loves studying and teaching the Bible. He longs to see local churches helping people become fully formed followers of Jesus Christ and is convinced that Golinda FBC is doing just that. Scott's vision is to see First Baptist filled with disciples who make disciples and meet the needs of the community around them.

Pastor Scott and his wife, Kris, have been married for 29 years. Kris is the manager of Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Waco. They have two grown sons, Jonathan and Jeremiah. Most of Scott's free time revolves around family and trying to keep up with a busy  wife and kids who live in different towns. Although, if he happens to have a leisure evening, he will most likely be reading or playing a puzzle game on his phone.

Scott's formal education has been at Baylor University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Other than discipleship, his ministry interests are family ministry and apologetics. You can get some of his musings about life on his blog here.
